SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Joseph Rago of Geneva, who passed away on
4 November 13, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago was born on September 25, 1960, in
6 Chicago; his parents were Michael and Maria (Nardella) Rago; he
7 married Nanci Partlo on September 6, 1987, in Oak Park; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago graduated from Broadview Academy in
9 LaFox in 1978; he earned his bachelor's degree in history and
10 economics from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan
11 and his law degree from the Illinois Institute of
12 Technology/Chicago Kent College of Law; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago was employed as an assistant state's
14 attorney for Kane County and as a first assistant state's
15 attorney for DeKalb County before opening up his own practice
16 in 2001; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago was the founder and the first
18 president of the Kane County Justinian Society of Lawyers; he
19 was the recipient of the Leonardo da Vinci Jurisprudence Award
20 of Excellence from the Order Sons of Italy in America; and

1     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago enjoyed history, discussing current
2 events and politics, watching the Chicago Bears, and cooking
3 Italian food from recipes he learned from his mother; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago was preceded in death by his parents;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, Joseph Rago is survived by his wife, Nanci; his
7 son, Joseph Jr.; his daughters, Abigail and Rachel; his sister,
8 Mary (Jim) Newbold; his brothers, Peter (Rita), Matteo, and
9 Michael (Lori) Rago; and his many nieces and nephews;
10 therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13 his family and friends, the passing of Joseph Rago; and be it
14 further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Joseph Rago as an expression of our
17 sympathy.
