SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jerry W. Nairn of Jerseyville, who passed
4 away on August 3, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on October 1, 1959 in Alton, one of
6 four sons born to the late Gerald "Windy" and Alice Marie
7 (Bradfisch) Nairn; he graduated in 1977 from Jersey Community
8 High School; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He married Betty Crull on October 1, 1976 in
10 Grafton; he worked at B.J. Schroeder Appliances in Jerseyville
11 and was a 20-year employee at Owens-Brockway in Godfrey before
12 his retirement; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He served as a police officer for the villages of
14 Grafton and Brighton, and as a deputy with the Jersey County
15 Sheriff's Office; he was later employed as a Unified
16 Intervention Delinquent Service Counselor with the Jersey
17 County Probation Office, and was also employed with the
18 Illinois Youth Center at Pere Marquette in Grafton; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He later became the Director of Maintenance at the
20 Alton Y.W.C.A., and was also employed as the Director of
21 Maintenance with the city of Grafton; he enjoyed entertaining

1 at the "Redneck Resort" and enjoyed boating, fishing, and
2 motorcycling; and
3     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his
4 infant brother, David John Nairn; his mother-in-law, Alice
5 (McGiffen) Crull; his father-in-law, Plowman Laverne Crull;
6 and his nephew, Matthew Crull; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Jerry Nairn is survived by his wife, Betty Nairn;
8 his daughters and sons-in-law, Krista and Derek Barnard and
9 Alison and Jim Clark; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and
10 Tiffany Nairn; his grandchildren, Connor, Windy Ann, and Ian
11 Bernard, Annamarie, Emma, and Tessa Clark; his brothers and
12 sisters-in-law, Russ and Kari Nairn and Chris and Lisa Nairn;
13 and his nieces and nephews, Kelsee and John David Nairn and
14 Olivia and Luke Nairn; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17 his family and friends, the passing of Jerry Nairn; and be it
18 further
 
19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of Jerry Nairn as a symbol of our
21 sincere sympathy.
