SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jesse Pender Jr. of Chicago, who passed
4 away on July 30, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jesse Pender Jr. was born on January 7, 1951 in
6 Memphis, Tennessee, to Jessie B. and Bethsaida Pender, the
7 eldest son of eleven children; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He confessed his love for Christ at the age of 14;
9 he attended DuSable High School and loved playing basketball;
10 and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his
12 sister, Brenda Pender; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Jesse Pender Jr. is survived by his daughters,
14 Nyisha (Andre) Roberts-Francois and Nakeara (Toy II)
15 Wilborn-Slaughter; his grandchildren, Calendula, Andre II,
16 Porcha, Aaron, Natoya, and Toy III; his brothers and sisters,
17 Elizabeth (Willie) Coleman, David (Genice) Pender, Linda
18 (Anthony) Shabazz, Edna (Odell) Fort, Martha (Edward) Smith,
19 Larry (Georgetta) Pender, Carolyn (Sam) Young, John
20 (Kim-deceased) Pender, and Paul (Wendy) Pender; his aunt; and a
21 host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
3 his family and friends, the passing of Jesse Pender Jr.; and be
4 it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Jesse Pender Jr. as a symbol of our
7 sincere sympathy.
