SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Sam Zangori of Alton, who passed away on
4 August 17, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born January 10, 1923, in Wood River to
6 Michael and Maria (LaSita) Zangori; he married the former Sarah
7 R. Ventimiglia on September 8, 1946, at St. Bernard's Catholic
8 Church in Wood River; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He had been a salesman for Met Life Insurance,
10 retiring in 1985; and he had worked for the county clerk at the
11 Madison County Courthouse; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a charter member of Knights of Columbus of
13 Wood River, past Rotary Club of Roxana, Eagles of Alton, Roxana
14 School Board from 1968 to 1981, Met Life Veterans, American
15 Cancer Society Met Life Executive Board of New York, United
16 Way, and president of Senior Citizens of Wood River; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his
18 two sisters, Antoinette Markovitch and Christine Malone; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Sam Zangori is survived by his wife, Sarah; his
20 two daughters, Mary Ann (Michael) Kelly and Josephine (Anthony)

1 Tardino; his son, Michael J. (Diane) Zangori; his
2 grandchildren, Christine (Rick) Elledge, Steven (Lori) Kelly,
3 Timothy (Amber) Tardino, Michael (Andrea) Zangori, Patrick
4 (Cassy) Kelly, Sam (Elizabeth) Zangori, and Michelle Tardino
5 and fiance, Chauncey Mayfield; his great-grandchildren,
6 Michael Elledge, Brandon Kelly, Jacquline Zangori, Sarah
7 Elledge, Abbigail Zangori, Zaccheri Zangori, Mallory Kelly,
8 Lukus Zangori, and Isabella Tardino; his two sisters, Josephine
9 Fredrickson and Rosemary Howard; and his brother, Ben Zangori;
10 therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13 his family and friends, the passing of Sam Zangori; and be it
14 further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Sam Zangori as a symbol of our
17 sincere sympathy.
