SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois State Senate were
3 deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Charles L. Cockburn,
4 of Cleveland, Tennessee, formerly of Lockport, on April 2,
5 2009; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Charles was a former member of the First
7 Congregational Church in Lockport and a life member of the
8 Teamsters Union Local #705; and
 
9     WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his parents, George
10 and Roa Lee Cockburn (nee Dunn); his granddaughter, Jackie; his
11 siblings, James Dunn, Edward Cockburn, Glenn Cockburn, Steven
12 Cockburn, Cecil Cockburn, Mary Cockburn, and Virginia Hawkins;
13 and
 
14     WHEREAS, Charles is survived by his loving family, his
15 former wife and friend, Carolyn Cockburn; his children, Martha
16 Shoemaker, Charles S. (Bernice) Cockburn, Martin (Diane)
17 Cockburn, Gary Cockburn, Charles D. Cockburn, Randy (Lori)
18 Cockburn, Susan Diechmiller, and Danny Cockburn; his siblings,
19 William Cockburn, Flora Lee (Eddie) Epperson, and Willma
20 Sprietzer; his grandchildren, Jeff Jeremy, Kristie, Nicole,
21 Jason, Patrick, Caitlin, Matthew, Gary, Phillip, Breanna,
22 Brandon, Karissa, Kristian, Jennifer, Jarod, Hannah, and

1 Savannah; his numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and
2 nephews; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 his family and friends, the passing of Charles L. Cockburn; and
6 be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Charles L. Cockburn as a symbol of
9 our sincere sympathy.
