SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of David G. Dominguez of Johnsburg, formerly
4 of Chicago, who passed away on April 1, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born June 30, 1944, in Chicago, to Gilbert
6 and Eusebia nee Hernandez Dominguez; he was a member of the
7 Richard M. Daley Drum & Bugle Corps; he graduated from the
8 University of Illinois with a degree in industrial engineering
9 and received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He was a former employee of Baxter & Abbott
11 Laboratories for many years; he served as a Johnsburg trustee
12 from 1989 to 1997 and as Village President from 1997 until his
13 death, serving always to promote the betterment of the
14 community he loved; he was nominated by the Johnsburg Lions
15 Club and recently had received the Citizen of the Year Award;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist
18 Catholic Church in Johnsburg, where he was a former CCD teacher
19 and member of Johnsburg Community Club; a former Boy Scouts of
20 America troop leader; and he had served on the Johnsburg
21 Educational Partnership Board of Directors; he enjoyed
22 gardening and loved spending time with his family and dear

1 friends; and
 
2     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; two
3 brothers-in-law; and by his in-laws, Gayle Gerstung and Ralph
4 Gerstung; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sue
6 Dominguez nee Gerstung, with whom he was united in marriage
7 January 9, 1971, in Chicago; his children, Michael (Dawn)
8 Dominguez, Aaron (fiancée Valerie Haft) Dominguez, and
9 Christen Schacht; his grandchildren, Kenndra, Morgan, Devynn,
10 Sophie, and Charlie; his brother, Paul Dominguez; his sisters,
11 Virginia (Jack) Bennecke, Dolores LaBarbara, and Sabina (John)
12 Mazzio; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and
13 sisters-in-law, as well as other relatives and many friends;
14 therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17 his family and friends, the passing of David Dominguez; and be
18 it further
 
19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of David Dominguez as a symbol of our
21 sincere sympathy.
