SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Bette J. McIntyre of Algonquin, who
4 passed away on February 9, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born September 21, 1923, in Rollo, to
6 Edmon and Bertha (Gourley) Shreffler; and
 
7     WHEREAS, She was a member of Congregational Church in
8 Algonquin, where she also volunteered in the Attic Resale Shop;
9 and
 
10     WHEREAS, She had worked at Algonquin Public Library for 20
11 years before her retirement, and she was a member of Friends of
12 the Algonquin Public Library; she was the past president of the
13 Algonquin American Legion Auxiliary; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
15 husband, G.D. "Mac" McIntyre; her brothers, Gunnar Gunnerson,
16 Bob, Albert, and Keith Shreffler; her sister, Mona Strand; and
17 her son-in-law, Bill Jensen; and
 
18     WHEREAS, She is survived by her children, William (Ethel)
19 McIntyre, Daniel P. McIntyre, and Kathy (Wendell) Harley; her
20 grandchildren, Tammy (Paul) Wheatley, Tom (Jill) Jensen,

1 Rachel McIntyre, and Meghan (Justin) Leckey; her
2 great-grandchildren, Dean, Sara, and Abigail Wheatley; her
3 step-grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Duncan, Jason (Jackie) Harley,
4 and Jonathan Harley; her step-great-grandchildren, Joshua,
5 Jacob, Duncan, and Boone Harley; and her sisters, Mary Hahn,
6 Helen Rangel, and Pat Shriver; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Bette McIntyre; and be
10 it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Bette McIntyre as a symbol of our
13 sincere sympathy.
