SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of John W. Rudd of Gurnee, who passed away
4 on December 13, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John Rudd was born on May 17, 1918 in Gurnee; his
6 parents were Thomas and Loretta Rudd; he married Patricia
7 O'Grady on September 28, 1940 in Waukegan; and
 
8     WHEREAS, John Rudd was a veteran of World War II, having
9 served with the U.S. Army 3189th Signal Service Battalion
10 stationed in France; and
 
11     WHEREAS, John Rudd retired in 1978 from International
12 Harvester in Libertyville as Superintendent in assembly and
13 shipping after 30 years of employment; and
 
14     WHEREAS, John Rudd was a member of St. Patrick's Church in
15 Wadsworth; and
 
16     WHEREAS, John Rudd enjoyed country music, gardening, auto
17 mechanics, and his family; and
 
18     WHEREAS, John Rudd was preceded in death by his parents and
19 his brothers, Thomas and Edward; and

1     WHEREAS, John Rudd is survived by his wife, Patricia; his
2 children, Thomas (Amy), Timothy (Joan), John (Linda), Francis
3 (Diane) Rudd, and Sharon (Gerald) Goheen; his grandchildren,
4 Kelley, Joseph, Kerry, Erin, Daniel, Katie, John, Gregory,
5 Tracy, Carter, Jack, and Lucas; his 17 great-grandchildren; and
6 his sisters, Eileen Paustian and Sarann Granstrom; therefore,
7 be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of John W. Rudd; and be it
11 further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of John Rudd as an expression of our
14 sympathy.
