SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Glenn Dunning of Zion, who passed away on
4 December 19, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Glenn Dunning was born on November 14, 1925 in
6 Chicago; he graduated in 1943 from Lyons Township High School
7 in LaGrange; and
 
8     WHEREAS, After graduation, Glenn Dunning served with the
9 Marine Corps Aircraft Wing during World War II and Korea,
10 retiring after 19 years of service; he was the honored
11 recipient of two Distinguished Flying Crosses and nine air
12 medals; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Glenn Dunning worked for many years in banking at
14 various banks in the Zion area and retired as President of
15 Glenview State Bank; he was a member of Meadowridge Baptist
16 Church of Zion, where he served as a greeter each week; he was
17 also a Past President of the Lake County Shriners; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Glenn Dunning was preceded in death by his
19 brother, Melvin Dunning, and his parents, Charles Edward and
20 Lillian (nee Misicka) Dunning; and

1     WHEREAS, Glenn Dunning is survived by his wife of 62 years,
2 Betty; his children, Patricia Reed, Sherry (Gary) Bowker, and
3 Vicki (Terry) Florio; his grandchildren, Christina (Charles)
4 Norman, Heather (William) Bueschen, Jodi (Trevor) Burnette,
5 Michael (Sara) Reed, Jeremy (Clarissa) Florio, Holly (Clary)
6 Kammer, Zachary (Kerry) Florio, and Heidi (Gardiner) Wade; and
7 his great-grandchildren, Summer, Destinee, River, Levi,
8 Nicholas, Clay, Madison, Savannah, Emma, Taylor, and Quinn;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Glenn Dunning; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Glenn Dunning as an expression of
16 our sympathy.
