SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Azalea "Alice" Kemppainen of Round Lake
4 Beach, who passed away on January 27, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Azalea Kemppainen was born on July 29, 1942 in
6 Detroit, Michigan; her parents were Stanley and Katherine
7 (Galan) Skrzypek; she married Roy M. Kemppainen in DeKalb on
8 July 15, 1967; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Azalea Kemppainen was a resident of Round Lake
10 Beach for 36 years; she was employed as a lab technician at
11 Baxter for over 25 years until her retirement in 2003; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Azalea Kemppainen was a member of the Finnish
13 Heritage Museum of Fairport Harbor, Ohio and the Finnish
14 Society of the Midwest in St. Charles; she was also a very
15 active member of the Round Lake Area Seniors and enjoyed
16 attending the Baxter retirees luncheons; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Azalea Kemppainen was well known as a great cook;
18 her favorite pastime was sewing and she had just started
19 quilting; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Azalea Kemppainen was preceded in death by her

1 parents; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Azalea Kemppainen is survived by her husband of 41
3 years, Roy; her sons, Scott (Luz) Kemppainen and Dale
4 (Kimberly) Kemppainen; and her grandchildren, Ryan, Tara, and
5 Krystal; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 her family and friends, the passing of Azalea "Alice"
9 Kemppainen; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Azalea Kemppainen as an expression
12 of our sympathy.
