SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are
3 saddened to learn of the death of Carolyn W. Bradley of
4 Junction, who passed away on March 29, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was born on February 8, 1920, in
6 Junction; her parents were Leonard Valentine and Georgia
7 (Floyd) Winterberger; she married Edward A. "Shorty" Bradley
8 Sr. on June 22, 1937; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley retired after many years as a
10 teacher in Equality; she also served as the librarian at
11 Shawneetown School; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was a faithful member of the
13 Junction General Baptist Church, where she served her entire
14 life; she was a member of Women's Ministries, served as a
15 Sunday school teacher, and supported various foreign missions;
16 she also served as treasurer of the "One Day Women's Society"
17 at Mount Olivet General Baptist; she was also the past vice
18 president and member of the Equality Tuesday Club; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley enjoyed spending time with her
20 family, friends, and the many people she met throughout her
21 life; and

1     WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley was preceded in death by her
2 parents; her husband; her daughter, Alexis Carole Bradley; her
3 sister, Gwendolyn Berry; her brother, Lieutenant Colonel
4 Charles L. Winterberger; and her aunt, Faye Winterberger; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Carolyn Bradley is survived by her daughter,
6 Marolyn and Herb Cowsert; her sons, Edward Jr. and Melanie
7 Bradley, Floyd and Phyllis Bradley, and Mark and Cheryl
8 Bradley; her grandchildren, Illinois State Representative John
9 and Amy Bradley, Jana and Bryan Bebout, Joshua and Allison
10 Bradley, State's Attorney Jeff and Michelle Bradley, Jaclyn
11 Cowsert and her fiancee, Donny Dale, Lori Beth and Adam Porter,
12 and Travis and Mallory Bradley; her special great-grandsons,
13 Jackson Edward Bradley, Nolan Ty Bebout, Joshua Gabriel
14 Bradley, Easton Bradley Bebout, Landon Ray Porter, and Cooper
15 Mark Bradley; her sister, Marjorie and Bob Barnett; and her
16 sisters-in-law, Gerama Bradley, Wilma Bradley, and Oleva
17 Wintizer Winterberger; therefore, be it
 
18     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
20 CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn, along with her family and
21 friends, the passing of Carolyn W. Bradley; and be it further
 
22     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
