SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 227/97

    Amends the Pyrotechnic Distributor and Operator Licensing Act. Increases the total number of members for the Music Entertainment Pyrotechnics Task Force to 9 members (now, 5 members). Provides that the President of the Senate and the Minority Leader of the Senate shall each appoint 2 members to the Task Force. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Pyrotechnic Distributor and Operator
5 Licensing Act is amended by changing Section 97 as follows:
 
6     (225 ILCS 227/97)
7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on July 1, 2011)
8     Sec. 97. Music Entertainment Pyrotechnics Task Force. The
9 Music Entertainment Pyrotechnics Task Force (Task Force) is
10 established for the purposes of studying the provision of
11 pyrotechnic displays and pyrotechnic services in the indoor and
12 outdoor music entertainment industry in the State of Illinois,
13 reviewing present recommendations solely related to who can
14 provide pyrotechnic displays and pyrotechnic services for the
15 music entertainment industry in the State of Illinois, studying
16 appropriate insurance policies for providing pyrotechnic
17 displays and pyrotechnic services, and recommending any
18 changes that may be necessary to the Pyrotechnic Distributor
19 and Operator Licensing Act to the House of Representatives. The
20 Task Force shall consist of 9 5 members. The Speaker of the
21 House of Representatives and the Minority Leader of the House
22 of Representatives shall each appoint 2 members to the Task
23 Force. The President of the Senate and the Minority Leader of

1 the Senate shall each appoint 2 members to the Task Force. The
2 Office of the State Fire Marshal shall appoint one member to
3 the Task Force. The members shall serve without compensation.
4 The Task Force shall meet as necessary. The Office of the State
5 Fire Marshal shall provide all staffing and administrative
6 support for the administration of the Task Force. The Task
7 Force shall report its findings and recommendations to the
8 House of Representatives by filing copies of its report with
9 the Clerk of the House of Representatives no later than January
10 1, 2011. Upon filing its report, the Task Force is dissolved.
11 This Section is repealed on July 1, 2011.

13     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
