SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
65 ILCS 5/9-2-13   from Ch. 24, par. 9-2-13

    Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that if the estimate of the cost for a local improvement exceeds $1,000,000 (now, $200,000), exclusive of the amount to be paid for land to be taken or damaged, the proposed ordinance pertaining to the local improvement shall be (i) published in accordance with the usual procedure or (ii) posted on the municipality's Internet website at least 10 days before the corporate authorities of the municipality take any action on the ordinance. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5 changing Section 9-2-13 as follows:
 
6     (65 ILCS 5/9-2-13)  (from Ch. 24, par. 9-2-13)
7     Sec. 9-2-13. Publication and posting of ordinances. Upon
8 the presentation to the corporate authorities of the proposed
9 ordinance, together with the required recommendation and
10 estimate, if the estimate of cost exceeds the sum of $1,000,000
11 $200,000, exclusive of the amount to be paid for land to be
12 taken or damaged, the ordinance shall be referred to the proper
13 committee and published in the usual way or posted on the
14 municipality's Internet website, in full, with the
15 recommendation and estimate, at least 10 days before any action
16 is taken thereon by the corporate authorities. Whenever any
17 plat, plan, profile, or drawing is a part of the ordinance, or
18 is attached thereto as a part thereof, or is referred to by the
19 ordinance, it is not necessary to publish or post that plat,
20 plan, profile, or drawing in connection with the publication or
21 posting of the ordinance.
