SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
755 ILCS 5/27-2   from Ch. 110 1/2, par. 27-2

    Amends the Probate Act of 1975. Provides that an attorney for a representative is entitled to reasonable compensation for the attorney's services and that an attorney who withdraws from representing a representative must file a petition for fees and costs within 30 after the withdrawal is approved by the court (instead of an attorney for a representative is entitled to reasonable compensation for the attorney's services). Effective July 1, 2010.

1     AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Probate Act of 1975 is amended by changing
5 Section 27-2 as follows:
 
6     (755 ILCS 5/27-2)  (from Ch. 110 1/2, par. 27-2)
7     Sec. 27-2. Attorney's fees.)
8     (a) The attorney for a representative is entitled to
9 reasonable compensation for his services.
10     (b) An attorney who withdraws from representing a
11 representative must file a petition for fees and costs within
12 30 after the withdrawal is approved by the court.

14     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
15 2010.
