SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
430 ILCS 5/4.5 new

    Amends the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Regulation Act. Provides that no legal action shall be commenced or maintained against any person engaged in the business of selling at retail, supplying, handling, or transporting liquefied petroleum gas in this State if the alleged injury, damage, or loss was caused by: (1) the alteration, modification, or repair of liquefied petroleum gas equipment or a liquefied petroleum gas appliance if done without the knowledge and consent of the liquefied petroleum gas seller, supplier, handler, or transporter; or (2) the use of liquefied petroleum gas equipment or a liquefied petroleum gas appliance in a manner or for a purpose other than that for which the equipment or appliance was intended and that could not reasonably have been expected.

1     AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Regulation Act is
5 amended by adding Section 4.5 as follows:
 
6     (430 ILCS 5/4.5 new)
7     Sec. 4.5. Liability limited. No legal action shall be
8 commenced or maintained against any person engaged in the
9 business of selling at retail, supplying, handling, or
10 transporting liquefied petroleum gas in this State if the
11 alleged injury, damage, or loss was caused by:
12         (1) the alteration, modification, or repair of
13     liquefied petroleum gas equipment or a liquefied petroleum
14     gas appliance if done without the knowledge and consent of
15     the liquefied petroleum gas seller, supplier, handler, or
16     transporter; or
17         (2) the use of liquefied petroleum gas equipment or a
18     liquefied petroleum gas appliance in a manner or for a
19     purpose other than that for which the equipment or
20     appliance was intended and that could not reasonably have
21     been expected.
