HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard
4A. Luttrell of Rochester, who passed away on November 6, 2010;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, He was born September 6, 1948 in Springfield, to
7Donald E. and Wilma Jean Noyes Luttrell; he married Carole L.
8Jenkins on November 23, 1968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard was a lifelong resident of the Springfield
10area and resided in Rochester the past 20 years; he was an avid
11sky diver, a member of the U.S.P.A. (United States Parachute
12Association) with a pro-rating, and a member of the Midwest
13Parachute Club in Taylorville; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during the
15Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968, in the 2/327 Separate, A
16Company, 101st Airborne Division; he was a lifetime member of
17the V.F.W. 755 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart
18Association; he was an avid fisherman and a past member of the
19Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail; he was active with
20the fundraising and completion of the Vietnam Memorial at Oak
21Ridge Cemetery and traveled to Vietnam 3 times after the war
22ended; and

1    WHEREAS, He appeared on the N.B.C. television show,
2Dateline, in 2000; he retired from the Illinois Department of
3Veterans' Affairs as a Public Information Officer in 2002; he
4also worked at the IDPA and Meadow Gold Dairy; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his
6daughter, Carole Michelle Mackanin; and his brother, Kenneth
7Luttrell; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Luttrell is survived by his wife, Carole;
9his daughter, Christina (partner, Linda Davis) Luttrell; his
10grandchildren, Ashley (David Nossem) Schwien and Brittany
11Schwien; his great-grandchild, Mahkayla; his sisters, Rita
12Walker, Barb Owens, and Janet Banning; his brother, Ed
13Luttrell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and
14cousins; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
18Richard Luttrell; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Richard Luttrell as a symbol of our
21sincere sympathy.
