HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth
4 R. "Kenny" Moore of Mounds, who passed away on May 10, 2010;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born September 27, 1948; he married Jackie
7 Gunn and on April 25, 2010, they celebrated their 40th
8 anniversary; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Mighty Rivers Regional
10 Worship Center (formerly Cairo Baptist Church); he served his
11 country honorably in the United States Army as an M.P., serving
12 in Korea in 1967 and 1968; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He worked his entire adult life in law
14 enforcement, serving as an Illinois Department of Natural
15 Resources conservation officer 29 years; he was the
16 department's Conservation Agent of the Year and Wildlife
17 Officer of the Year, both in 1997; he was a Cairo police
18 patrolman in 1968 and 1969, served as sheriff of Pulaski County
19 in 2000 and 2001, and was Cairo chief of police in 2005; he was
20 a Meridian Community Unit School District 101 board member from
21 1983 to 1987; and he was a member of Mounds VFW Post 8891 and
22 the Cairo Elks Lodge; and

1     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marie
2 Benson, who raised him; his mother, Gloria Sides; and his
3 in-laws, Jack and Claudis Gunn; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Kenneth Moore is survived by his wife, Jackie; his
5 son, Robbie (April) Moore; his three grandchildren, Brock,
6 Ryan, and Reagan; his six half brothers; his two half sisters;
7 his special sisters-in-law, Donna Washam and Melissa Gardner;
8 his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
13 Kenneth Moore; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Kenneth Moore as a symbol of our
16 sincere sympathy.
