HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald
4 Schaper of New Lenox, who passed away on February 14, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, In 1965, Ronald Schaper founded and directed the
6 New Lenox Mustangs youth football program, which he proudly led
7 for 46 years until his passing; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Ronald Schaper was a former school board member
9 for both the New Lenox School District and Lincoln-Way
10 Community High School; he was a member of Lincoln-Way Area
11 Community Television; he was a past member of the New Lenox
12 Lions Club; he was a member and president of the Southwest
13 Midget Football League; he also served as a coach for both the
14 New Lenox Little League Baseball program and the New Lenox
15 Lightning girls traveling softball program; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Ronald Schaper was named "Man of the Year" by the
17 New Lenox Community Park District and "Citizen of the Year" by
18 the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce; he was also inducted into
19 the Joliet Area Sports Hall of Fame; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Ronald Schaper enjoyed coordinating cruises with
21 his many friends; and

1     WHEREAS, Ronald Schaper was preceded in death by his
2 parents, Gustav and Edith (nee Friar) Schaper; his step-mother
3 Eva Schaper; his grandchildren, Jenna Schaper and Amanda and
4 Ashley Plarski; and his sisters, Rose Meile and Ruth
5 Topolewski; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Ronald Schaper is survived by his wife, Janice;
7 his son, Robert (Linda) Schaper; his daughter, Lynn (Perry)
8 Plarski; his grandchildren, Michelle, Scott, and Brian Schaper
9 and Sean and Kyle Plarski; and his many nieces, nephews,
10 cousins, and other family members; therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ronald
14 Schaper; and be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Ronald Schaper as an expression of
17 our sympathy.
