HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of David
4 Richard Perko of Tamaroa, who passed away on October 1, 2009;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, David Perko was born on March 9, 1941, in Altoona,
7 Pennsylvania, to Nick and Julia Perko; he married his beloved
8 wife, Catherine, on December 26, 1964; and
 
9     WHEREAS, David Perko earned his associate's degree in
10 architecture from Southern Illinois University; he taught OSHA
11 and carpenter upgrade courses since 1992 and was an apprentice
12 coordinator and teacher for a carpenters apprentice program; he
13 had also worked for Illinois Central Railroad (Chicago); and
 
14     WHEREAS, David Perko was a member of Carpenters Local 638
15 for 43 years; he served as a business representative for Local
16 638 for 17 years for Carpenters District Council; he was also a
17 member of the Shekinah Lodge 241 in Carbondale and the Scottish
18 Rites Valley of Southern Illinois; and
 
19     WHEREAS, David Perko was preceded in death by his father,
20 Nick Perko, and his grandson, Gregory Perko; and

1     WHEREAS, David Perko is survived by his wife, Catherine;
2 his mother, Julia Perko; his children, Michael (Annie) Perko
3 and Karen (Randy) Bower; his sisters, Louise Ann Anderson and
4 Ruth Jean Perko; his grandchildren, Marie (Chris) Gomez, Julie
5 (Ryan) Chrusch, Lucy, Jean, Lori, and Kimberley Perko, and
6 Ashley, Brittanny, and Cassie Ortiz; his great-grandchildren,
7 Joseph Chrusch, Emma Gomez, and Trenton Walker; his 3 nieces;
8 his nephew; his great-niece; his 3 great-nephews; and his many
9 dear friends; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of David
13 Richard Perko; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of David Perko as an expression of our
16 sympathy.
