HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Macon Meridian
4 Hawks boys basketball team on the occasion of winning the IHSA
5 Class 1A boys basketball State championship; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The Macon Meridian Hawks beat Woodlawn 63-53 to
7 win the IHSA Class 1A boys basketball State championship; the
8 team finished the season with an impressive 31-2 record; and
 
9     WHEREAS, The Hawks were ably led in the championship game
10 by Dakota Getz, who scored 22 points and had eight rebounds;
11 the rest of the team performed admirably as well, with Trent
12 Swigert contributing 17 points and eight assists, Jacob
13 Shasteen scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds, and
14 Cory Burns adding eight points and six steals; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The members of the Hawks are Cory Burns, Dakota
16 Getz, Kyle Gates, Jacob Shasteen, Bryson Barnes, Logan
17 Washburn, Trent Swigert, Caleb Brown, Casey Dodson, Mike Tague,
18 Tyler Albers, Kyle Fore, Josh Thompson, and Brandon Kitchens;
19 the team's head coach is Jack Blickensderfer and the assistant
20 coaches are Mike Stogsdill, Darrin Shasteen, Clint Cowman, and
21 Kaleb Renfro; and

1     WHEREAS, The members of the Macon Meridian Hawks boys
2 basketball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and
3 dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore,
4 be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 congratulate the members of the Macon Meridian Hawks boys
8 basketball team on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class 1A
9 boys basketball State championship and wish them continued
10 success and happiness in the future; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to Jack Blickensderfer, head coach of the Macon
13 Meridian Hawks boys basketball team, as a symbol of our esteem
14 and respect.
