HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert J.
4 La Parr of Antioch, who passed away on March 28, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Robert La Parr was born on January 14, 1919 in
6 Kenosha, Wisconsin; he was the son of the late Henry and
7 Kathryn (Schmid) La Parr; he had lived his early years in
8 Rockford before moving to Antioch in 1934; he married the
9 former Marguerite Malget on January 10, 1942 in Antioch; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Robert La Parr worked as a carpenter and general
11 contractor for over 21 years; he later owned and operated the
12 Lake Villa Variety Store and, in recent years, the La Parr
13 Swimming Pools; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Robert La Parr was a member and one of the
15 founders of the Lake Villa Rescue Squad; he was also a member
16 of the Antioch Coin Club and Senior Center and the AARP; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Robert La Parr was preceded in death by his
18 parents; his brother, Edward La Parr; and his sister, Margaret
19 (the late Nelsford) Nichols; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Robert La Parr is survived by his wife of 67

1 years, Marguerite; his daughter, Patricia Keisler; his
2 sister-in-law, June La Parr Knox; and his several nieces and
3 nephews; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
6 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert
7 J. La Parr; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Robert La Parr as an expression of
10 our sympathy.
