HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the administration
4 and employees of the Joliet Park District on the occasion of
5 the district winning the 2009 "Salute to Accomplishment" Award
6 from the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and
 
7     WHEREAS, The Joliet Park District has played an integral
8 role in the lives of Joliet residents for over 85 years; and
 
9     WHEREAS, The Joliet Park District boasts many great
10 facilities, including the Provena Saint Joseph Inwood Athletic
11 Club, which features the Illinois Department of Human Services
12 Community Partnership Award for Youth Fitness Program inside of
13 its state-of-the-art facility; the park district also has spray
14 grounds at Hartman Recreation Center and Nowell Park, a
15 playground at Kearney Glen, the first park in Kendall County, a
16 18 hole disc golf course at Highland Park, and baseball
17 diamonds at Varnado Park; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The Joliet Park District has sponsored many
19 community events, including the Taste of Joliet, the Vietnam
20 Moving Wall at Inwood Park, the youth soccer program,
21 basketball, volleyball, and softball events, the 43rd Annual
22 Joliet Amateur event, and the annual NIHL hockey tournament at

1 Inwood Ice Arena; and
 
2     WHEREAS, The Joliet Park District's blend of top-quality
3 facilities and dedicated staff makes it supremely qualified for
4 this prestigious award; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 congratulate the administration and employees of the Joliet
8 Park District on the occasion of the district winning the 2009
9 "Salute to Accomplishment" Award and wish them continued
10 success and happiness in the future; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the Joliet Park District as a symbol of our esteem
13 and respect.
