HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Frank H. Musholt on
4 the occasion of being inducted into the Quincy Area Chamber of
5 Commerce's Business Hall of Fame; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce's Business
7 Hall of Fame was begun in 2006 to celebrate the rich history
8 and accomplishments of the Quincy area business community; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Frank Musholt was born in Quincy in 1939, a son of
10 Aloys J. and Isabel F. (Bohne) Musholt; he graduated from
11 Quincy Notre Dame High School, Quincy University, and Western
12 Illinois University, and held several industrial positions in
13 Louisiana, Missouri and Peoria before moving back to Quincy;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, In 1969, Frank Musholt became treasurer of
16 Hollister-Whitney Elevator Corporation, a fledgling company
17 with less than two dozen employees that produced 100-200
18 elevators a year at its original multi-level building on Front
19 Street in Quincy; in 1978, Mr. Musholt became the company's
20 vice president and general manager, a position he still holds
21 today; and

1     WHEREAS, Under Frank Musholt's leadership, the
2 Hollister-Whitney Elevator Corporation moved its location to
3 Schneidman Industrial Park and expanded its space to 200,000
4 square feet; the company currently employs 245 workers and
5 produces several thousand elevators each year;
6 Hollister-Whitney is now known around the world, producing 80
7 percent of the elevators in the United States in addition to a
8 good percentage of the international market; in recent years,
9 safety devices invented by Hollister-Whitney have become an
10 important part of the business and instrumental in inspiring
11 more elevator safety around the world; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Frank Musholt is a past president of the Great
13 River Economic Development Foundation and has served on the
14 Boards of Directors of St. Mary Hospital and the Quincy Area
15 Chamber of Commerce; he served as chairman of the City of
16 Quincy Sanitation Committee and was the first chairman of the
17 City of Quincy Loan Committee; he has served as a director of
18 Mercantile Trust and Savings Bank for over 20 years; he was
19 also a past treasurer of the National Association of Elevator
20 Contractors and is involved in the National Elevator Industries
21 Institute; therefore, be it
 
22     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate Frank H. Musholt on the occasion of being inducted

1 into the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce's Business Hall of
2 Fame and wish him continued success and happiness in the
3 future; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Frank Musholt as a symbol of our esteem and
6 respect.
