SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2805/35 new

    Amends the Department of Veterans Affairs Act. Creates the Illinois Jobs for Veterans Task Force within the Governor's Office. Establishes the Illinois Jobs for Veterans Task Force to review and prepare a report on the training received by active military service members to determine if the training applies towards or satisfies any State professional licensure requirements. Sets forth the membership of the Task Force. Provides for the filling of vacancies. Provides that these provisions are repealed on January 1, 2011. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Department of Veterans Affairs Act is
5 amended by adding Section 35 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 2805/35 new)
7     Sec. 35. Illinois Jobs for Veterans Task Force. The
8 Illinois Jobs for Veterans Task Force is hereby created within
9 the Governor's Office. The Task Force shall review and prepare
10 a report on the training received by active military service
11 members to determine if the training applies towards or
12 satisfies any State professional licensure requirements.
13     The Task Force shall include the following members:
14         (a) a representative from the Governor's Office, who
15     shall serve as the chairperson of the Task Force;
16         (b) a representative from the Department of Military
17     Affairs;
18         (c) a representative from the Department of Veterans'
19     Affairs;
20         (d) a representative from the Department of Financial
21     and Professional Regulation; and
22         (e) a representative from the Department of Public
23     Health.

1     Appointments to the Task Force shall be made no later than
2 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the
3 96th General Assembly. Vacancies in the Task Force shall be
4 filled in the same manner as the original appointments. Members
5 of the Task Force shall serve without compensation.
6     A final report delineating the findings of the Task Force
7 must be submitted to the General Assembly by July 1, 2010.
8     This Section is repealed on January 1, 2011.
 
9     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
10 becoming law.
