| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 34-18.37 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 34-18.37. Contract schools prohibited. Beginning |
| 8 |
| with contracts entered into or renewed on or after the |
| 9 |
| effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General |
| 10 |
| Assembly, the board is prohibited from establishing or |
| 11 |
| operating a contract school.

| 12 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 |
| becoming law.
|
