AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 723

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 723 on page 4, by
3 replacing lines 8 through 18 with the following:
 
4 "filled only by a person designated by the appropriate
5 committee of the political party and only if that designated
6 person files nominating petitions with the number of signatures
7 required for an established party candidate for that office
8 within 75 days after the day of the general primary. The
9 circulation period for those petitions begins on the day the
10 appropriate committee designates that person. The person shall
11 file his or her nominating petitions, statements of candidacy,
12 notice of appointment by the appropriate committee, and receipt
13 of filing his or her statement of economic interests together.
14 The State Board of Elections shall hear and pass upon all
15 objections to nomination petitions filed by candidates under
16 this paragraph. created,".
