SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of F.D. "Lee" Conlon of Williams Bay,
4 Wisconsin, who passed away on October 22, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, F.D. Conlon was born on May 17, 1921 in Chicago;
6 in 1949, he married Betty Klima; together, they raised their
7 family in Park Forest; and
 
8     WHEREAS, F.D. Conlon served with the Cook County Highway
9 Department for 11 years, retiring in 1987; he was also a former
10 Chicago advertising salesman and served as a Rich Township
11 Democratic committeeman from 1982 until 1987; and
 
12     WHEREAS, After his retirement, F.D. Conlon and his wife
13 traveled extensively to locations in Europe, Africa,
14 Australia, New Zealand, the Fiji Islands, Canada, and Hawaii;
15 he also developed his talent as a painter of wildlife and
16 landscapes in the Lake Geneva area where he and his wife lived;
17 and
 
18     WHEREAS, F.D. Conlon was an intense reader who would put
19 together packages of clippings and copies of stories involving
20 politics, current events, literature, and the arts that might
21 interest his children; and

1     WHEREAS, F.D. Conlon is survived by his wife; his
2 daughters; Patricia Grosso and Cathy Conlon; his sons, Kevin,
3 Michael, and Thomas; and his 10 grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of F.D. "Lee" Conlon; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of F.D. Conlon as an expression of our
10 sympathy.
