SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Thomas C. Jun Jr., of Alton, who passed
4 away on October 20, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Thomas C. Jun Jr. was born March 9, 1936, in
6 Alton, the son of Thomas C. and Celesta (Karns) Jun Sr; he
7 married Valerie Louise Dennis at Saint Mary's Catholic Church
8 in Alton on April 29, 1961; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He worked with his father, Thomas C. Jun Sr., who
10 founded Jun Construction in 1946; in the early 60's he started
11 Frontier Construction and helped develop Villa Marie
12 Subdivision; upon his fathers retirement, he assumed control of
13 Jun Construction, which still thrives today as a
14 third-generation general contracting firm; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was a member of Local 377 union carpenter's
16 hall, Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, a board member of
17 ARC, the Catholic Children's Home in Alton, the National
18 Association of Home Builders, the Beverly Farm Foundation, and
19 a former president of the Marquette Booster Club; he was a
20 member of Knights of Columbus in Alton and the Alton-Wood River
21 Sportsman's Club; and

1     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie; and
2 his father, Thomas C. Jun Sr.; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Thomas Jun Jr. is survived by his mother, Celesta
4 Jun; his two daughters and a son-in-law, and one son and
5 daughter-in-law; Denise Jun, Bradley and Kirsten Jun, and Karen
6 and Don Lindsay; his six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ellen
7 Lindsay, Thomas, Alexandria, Luke, and Daniel Jun; his sisters
8 and a brother-in-law, Mary Keshner-Seibert and Edward "Peck"
9 Seibert and Minerva Stalker; and his brothers and a
10 sister-in-law, J. Raymond Jun, and P.J. and Jayne Jun; and his
11 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14 his family and friends, the passing of Thomas Jun Jr.; and be
15 it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of Thomas Jun Jr. as a symbol of our
18 sincere sympathy.
