SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Kim Rhodes of Bethalto, who passed away
4 on August 30, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Kim E. Rhodes was born on August 9, 1956, at St.
6 Anthony's Hospital in Effingham, the son of Gene and Bernice
7 (Wolfert) Rhodes; he married the former Cheryl McEuen on July
8 15, 1978, at St. Bernard's Church in Wood River; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Kim was employed for the Illinois Department of
10 Natural Resources as a conservation officer for more than 28
11 years; he was a trainer at the academy for several years and
12 received numerous awards, including Officer of the Year twice
13 and Valor Award; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace
15 Catholic Church in Bethalto and Bethalto Knights of Columbus;
16 he was a volunteer for the Jacksonville Fire Department and
17 EMT; he enjoyed his job, playing softball for the Jacksonville
18 Moose and K of C in Bethalto, and loved to spend time with his
19 family and friends; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his mother; his nephew
21 and godson, Scott Taylor Rhodes; his brother-in-law, Floyd

1 "Bub" McEuen; and his mother-in-law, Shelb McEuen; and
 
2     WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Rhodes; his
3 father and stepmother, Gene and Lois Rhodes; three children,
4 Matt Rhodes and wife, Amy, and Ashleigh Rhodes and Nick Rhodes;
5 two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Bonnie Rhodes and
6 Mark and Sandra Rhodes; one sister, Sandy Ingold; his
7 father-in-law, Floyd Wayne McEuen; three brothers-in-law and
8 their spouses, Jack and Tina McEuen, Terry McEuen, and Gary and
9 Hester McEuen; and he will be missed by several nieces,
10 nephews, and multiple friends; therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13 his family and friends, the passing of Kim Rhodes; and be it
14 further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Kim Rhodes as a symbol of our
17 sincere sympathy.
