SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Edna Earl Young of Peoria, who passed
4 away on August 11, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born October 10, 1918, to Ira and Margie
6 Donelson in Indianola, Mississippi; she married William Young
7 Sr. on November 24, 1935 and he preceded her in death; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Edna was a homemaker; she was also very dedicated
9 to her church, the New Morning Star Baptist Church, where she
10 was an avid Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher and
11 a member of the Mothers Board and choir; and
 
12     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, four
13 sisters, four brothers, four granddaughters, three sons-in-law
14 and one nephew, whom she reared; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She is survived by her son, William (Billy) Young
16 Jr.; her daughters, Lillie Faulkner, Christie Pollard, Laverne
17 Young, Cora McCullum, Mary (Albert) Chaney, Dorothy (John)
18 Shorty, Edna Mae Young, Betty (Charles) Beard, Evelyn Young,
19 and Marilyn (Terry) Woods; her 154 grandchildren; her sister,
20 Elizabeth Dorsey; and she and William reared nieces and
21 nephews, Geri McKinney, Christine (Leroy) Warner, Linda

1 Hollins, J.T. Donelson, James Hollins, Larry Hollins, and
2 Andrew (Janice) Hollins; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 her family and friends, the passing of Edna Earl Young; and be
6 it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Edna Earl Young as a symbol of our
9 sincere sympathy.
