SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the passing of J. Richard "Dick" Meno of Gillespie,
4 who passed away August 8, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born April 25, 1948 in Litchfield, the son
6 of the late Charles C. Meno and the late Jennie (Michelis) Meno
7 Cordera; he married Wanda (Osborne) Meno on October 2, 1993 in
8 Las Vegas; he was a 1966 graduate of Gillespie High School,
9 graduated cum lade in 1970 from St. Louis University, receiving
10 a Bachelor's degree from the School of Commerce & Finance, and
11 graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 1973; and
 
12     WHEREAS, One of the great loves of his life was music and
13 playing his trumpet with The Music Men and the Muni Band; he
14 was a member of The Music Men, a 46 year member of the American
15 Federation of Musicians Local 88, serving as Vice President for
16 5 years and serving as President for 18 years, the Illinois
17 State Bar Association, and the Macoupin County Bar Association;
18 he served as an attorney for the City of Benld and as President
19 of the Benld Cemetery Association; he was a member of the
20 Italian-American Club of Benld and the Knights of Columbus; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Richard Meno was an attorney-at-law, serving in
22 1973 as an Associate with Denby & Dobbs in Carlinville; from

1 1973-1975 as Macoupin County Public Defender; and from 1975 to
2 the present as a Partner in the law offices of Denby, Meno,
3 Bloomer, & Denby located in Benld, Carlinville, and Staunton;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his
6 step-father, Severino Cordera; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Richard Meno is survived by his wife, Wanda Meno;
8 his son, Charles J. "C.J." Meno; his daughter, Mavi
9 (Husband:Chad) Baarson; his brother, Charles J. "Jack"
10 (Wife:Deanna) Meno; his sister, Joanne Horne; and his
11 granddaughter, Lucciana Baarson; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14 his family and friends, the passing of J. Richard "Dick" Meno;
15 and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of J. Richard "Dick" Meno as a symbol
18 of our sympathy.
