SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jo Ellen Malham of Springfield, who
4 passed away on August 9, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jo Ellen Malham was born March 18, 1961, in
6 Springfield, the daughter of Lynn R. Malham and Vivian R. Hall;
7 she was preceded in death by her father on September 21, 1994;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, Jo Ellen was a 1979 graduate of Carlinville High
10 School; she was also a graduate of Robert Morris College in
11 Carthage and Lincoln Land Community College with a degree in
12 nursing; and
 
13     WHEREAS, She worked as a registered nurse specializing in
14 gastroenterology at Memorial Medical Center for 18 years; she
15 was a member of Atwater Christian Church, the Society of
16 Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, and the board of
17 directors of Air Rendezvous; she was a volunteer with the LPGA,
18 the Festival of Trees, past president of the Springfield
19 Cardinals Booster Club, and was an avid Cardinals fan; and
 
20     WHEREAS, While growing up in Carlinville, she was the
21 Macoupin County Pork Queen and was worthy advisor of the

1 Rainbow Girls; she also wrote a chapter in the Mosley
2 Publishing Co. textbook about nursing on gastroenterology and
3 held certification seminars; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Jo Ellen Malham is survived by her mother, Vivian
5 R. Hall; her brothers, Roger L. (Mary) Malham and Curtis E.
6 (Kathy); her nephew; her nieces; her great-nephew; her
7 great-nieces; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins;
8 therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 her family and friends, the passing of Jo Ellen Malham; and be
12 it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Jo Ellen Malham as a symbol of our
15 sincere sympathy.
