SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of John Burzynski, father of State Senator
4 and our colleague Brad Burzynski, who passed away on April 23,
5 2008; and
 
6     WHEREAS, John Burzynski was born August 13, 1922, in
7 Benton, the son of Lawrence and Martha (Zachari) Burzynski; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He married Billie (Stewart) on October 9, 1943, in
9 Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Mr. Burzynski was a World War II
10 veteran; he was a retired coal miner and farmer; he was a
11 member of Rend Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and served
12 as church treasurer for more than 50 years; and he was also an
13 avid gardener and was widely known for his generosity at
14 harvest time; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his
16 brothers, Raymond and Stanley; and a sister, Mary Isaacs; and
 
17     WHEREAS, John Burzynski is survived by his wife, Billie
18 Burzynski; his son, Ken W. Burzynski and wife, Carmen; his
19 daughter, Judy Ridgway and husband, Paul; his son, J. Bradley
20 Burzynski and wife, Judy; his nine grandchildren, Dan, Lori,
21 Sam and Amanda Burzynski, Ben Burzynski and wife, Abbie, Beth

1 (Burzynski) Veit and husband, Kristian, Andrew Ridgway,
2 Zachary Ridgway, and wife, Meredith, and Anthony Ridgway; and
3 two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah Burzynski;, he also
4 is survived by his brothers, Lawrence, Walter, Marion, and
5 Clyde "Butch" Burzynski, as well as his sisters, Helen
6 Thompson, Stella Stewart, Ruth Grammer, and Jane Cummings;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of John Burzynski; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of John Burzynski as a symbol of our
14 sincere sympathy.
