SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Peter Gonzales of Alton, who passed away
4 on August 2, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Peter Gonzales was born on February 23, 1932 in
6 San Felipe, Mexico; his parents were Atanacio and Reyes
7 (Carmona) Gonzales; he married Rita Jane Morales on June 4,
8 1960; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Peter Gonzales was employed with the Olin
10 Corporation in East Alton, retiring from there after 35 years
11 of service; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Peter Gonzales served his country with pride and
13 distinction during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air
14 Force from 1951 to 1955; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Peter Gonzales enjoyed spending time with his
16 grandchildren, watching local high school sports teams, and the
17 St. Louis Cardinals; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Peter Gonzales was preceded in death by his wife;
19 his parents; his brothers, John Gonzales and Joseph Gonzales;
20 and his sister, Consuelo Gonzales; and

1     WHEREAS, Peter Gonzales is survived by his sons, Leonard
2 Gonzales and his wife, Susan, Raymond Gonzales and his wife,
3 Jennifer, and Thomas Gonzales; his daughters, Christina Gebben
4 and her husband, Steven, and Nancy Gonzales; his grandchildren,
5 Matt Gonzales, Maria Gonzales, Nicholas Gebben, Adam Gebben,
6 Emily Gebben, Brandon Gonzales, Alyssa Gonzales, Brian
7 Gonzales, and Christopher Gonzales; his great-grandchild,
8 Madison Gonzales; his brothers, Richard "Vic" Gonzales,
9 Francis "Frank" Gonzales, Phillip Gonzales, Herman Gonzales,
10 and Anthony Gonzales; and his sister, Juanita Cruz; therefore,
11 be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14 his family and friends, the passing of Peter Gonzales; and be
15 it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of Peter Gonzales as an expression of
18 our sympathy.
