SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Ruthie Jean Jackson of Maywood, who
4 passed away on February 16, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Ruthie Jackson was born on September 7, 1950 in
6 Bell City, Missouri; her parents were Willie J. Jackson and
7 Rosie Lee Jackson-Lattin; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Ruthie Jackson received her early education in the
9 Bell City School System; she graduated from Cape Central High
10 School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and
 
11     WHEREAS, As a young woman, Ruthie Jackson moved to Chicago
12 and joined the First Baptist Church of Melrose Park, where she
13 served as a member of the Senior Gospel Choir; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Ruthie Jackson was employed as a keypunch operator
15 at Southeast Missouri State University and as a keypunch
16 operator for the Cook County Traffic Court; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Ruthie Jackson lived in Maywood for over 30 years;
18 she was well known throughout the community for her cheerful
19 smile; and

1     WHEREAS, Ruthie Jackson was preceded in death by her
2 parents; her siblings, Freddie, Barbara, Deborah, Jessie B.,
3 and J.W.; and her niece, Sharla; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Ruthie Jackson is survived by her son, Trashawn
5 (Dana); her grandson, Noah; her sisters, Jerlean Lesure,
6 Shirley Higgins (Albert), Earnestine Pullen, Virginia Byrd,
7 and Ceretha Brown; her brothers, Eddie Lee (Maryann), W.L.
8 (Helen), Carlee (Loretta), and Daniel (Amelia); and her many
9 nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 her family and friends, the passing of Ruthie Jean Jackson; and
13 be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Ruthie Jean Jackson as an expression
16 of our sympathy.
