SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 hear of the death of Sister Mary Barbara Loxterkamp of Alton,
4 who passed away on October 31, 2007, fortified with the
5 Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Sister M. Barbara Loxterkamp, F.S. G. M., baptized
7 Agnes Loxterkamp, was born on March 16, 1920 in Kettenkamp,
8 Germany; she entered the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr
9 St. George on March 7, 1953 and professed her first vows on
10 September 17, 1955; she professed her final vows on September
11 16, 1959 and celebrated her Golden Jubilee in 2004; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Her missions included: St. Anthony's Health
13 Center in Alton from September 18, 1955 to April 14, 1985 in
14 nursing; Marian Heights Apartments in Alton from April 15, 1985
15 to September 14, 1989 in nursing; Pope John Paul I Apartments
16 in Springfield from September 15, 1989 to October 10, 2000
17 working with the elderly and nursing as needed; and from
18 October 11, 2000 until the present as an Adoration Sister in
19 Alton; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Sister Loxterkamp is survived by one sister, Mrs.
21 Irma Redder; her three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Margaret
22 Loxterkamp, Mrs. Maria Loxterkamp, and Mrs. Maria Loxterkamp;

1 and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4 her family and friends, the passing of Sister Mary Barbara
5 Loxterkamp; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to the family of Sister Mary Barbara Loxterkamp as a
8 symbol of our sympathy.
