SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Carmen S. DiGiovine of Naperville, who
4 passed away on August 30, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Carmen DiGiovine was born January 1, 1942 in
6 Joliet; he graduated from St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School
7 in 1956, Joliet Catholic High School in 1960, and Northern
8 Illinois University with a degree in Accountancy in 1965; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. DiGiovine was co-founder and principal of
10 DiGiovine Hnilo + Johnson Ltd. and DiGiovine Hnilo Jordan +
11 Johnson Financial Advisors Ltd. in Naperville; he was a
12 Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, and
13 designated Certified Senior Advisor; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mr. DiGiovine was the Past Treasurer and Board
15 Member of the Naperville Noon Lions, Past Board Member of the
16 Naperville Jaycees and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church
17 Parish Council, a Charter Member of the Naperville Education
18 Foundation, Past member of the Community Unit School District
19 203 Financial Task Force, Board Member and Finance Committee
20 member of St. Patrick's Residence for the Aged and Infirmed,
21 and Past Board Member and Charter Member of the Naperville
22 Rotary Sunrise Club; and

1     WHEREAS, He provided assistance and support to the
2 Carmelite Sisters and the Diocese of Joliet to relocate St.
3 Patrick's Residence for the Aged and Infirmed to Naperville; he
4 assisted at DuPage PADS, and at the SS. Peter and Paul "Light
5 the Way" annual fundraiser; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The passing of Carmen DiGiovine will be deeply
7 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Jane
8 (nee Gallagher) DiGiovine; his children, Carmen (Michalle)
9 DiGiovine, Jeanette (Todd) Gehrs, Kevin and Jordan DiGiovine;
10 his grandchildren, Kaitlin and Olivia DiGiovine, David,
11 Daniel, Isabella, Samuel, and Francesca Gehrs; and his
12 brothers, Angelo (Sharon) DiGiovine and Joe DiGiovine;
13 therefore, be it
 
14     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
15 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
16 his family and friends, the passing of Carmen DiGiovine; and be
17 it further
 
18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to the family of Carmen DiGiovine as a symbol of our
20 sympathy.
