SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of James "Shib" Glenn Miller of Sesser, who
4 passed away in the line of duty on July 27, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, James "Shib" Glenn Miller was born on August 28,
6 1963, in Franklin County Hospital in Benton to Mary
7 Eubanks-Miller Morefield and James Miller; he grew up in
8 Sesser; he had a distinguished career with the Sesser Fire
9 Department, where he worked as a volunteer firefighter for
10 almost 22 years; he was a proud firefighter and gave of himself
11 to keep the community safe; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Baptist Church in
13 Sesser; James also enjoyed spending time watching the St. Louis
14 Cardinals, and was considered by many as one of their most
15 loyal and enduring fans; and
 
16     WHEREAS, James Miller was preceded in death by his late
17 grandparents, Cecil and Tincey Eubanks, Glenn Miller, and Floyd
18 Coffman; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Marion
19 Byers, and his cousin Russell Miller; and
 
20     WHEREAS, James Miller is survived by his wife, Sherry
21 Miller, and daughters, Misty and Jenny Miller; his father,

1 James (Carolyn) Miller, and his mother, Mary Eubanks-Miller
2 Morefield; his grandparents, Wanda Coffman and Art and Mary
3 Todd; he is also survived by his brothers, Kevin (Becky) Miller
4 and Steve Miller, and sisters, Missy (Rob) Knight, Megan (Zach)
5 Rounds, and Mallory Miller; his nieces and nephews, Tim and
6 Bethany Miller, Brittany and Mariah Miller, Kylan, Brianna, and
7 Cyler Knight, and Maya Rounds; he is also survived by his dog,
8 Lady; he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of this brave firefighter,
13 James "Shib" Glenn Miller; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of James "Shib" Glenn Miller as a
16 symbol of our sympathy and deep respect.
