SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of James P. Keagle Sr., former mayor of
4 Wauconda, who passed away on June 18, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, James P. Keagle Sr. was born July 1, 1932, in
6 Battle Creek, Michigan; Mr. Keagle served in the Air Force for
7 four years, three years in Germany with Air Force Intelligence;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, He received a bachelor of science degree from
10 Western Michigan University and continued his education in
11 computers at the College of Lake County and in finance at
12 private and Municipal League seminars; Mr. Keagle was employed
13 for 38 years with the Kellogg Sales Company, where he worked as
14 a food service territory manager; and
 
15     WHEREAS, His years of community service contributions
16 include Township supervisor for 12 years; mayor of Wauconda;
17 advisory member of L.C. Alliance for the Mentally Ill; director
18 of Lake County Municipal League; working with NISRA on the
19 handicapped fishing pier, working with PADS at Messiah Church;
20 and helping with the development of boys and girls programs
21 through LYAA; and

1     WHEREAS, He served as Wauconda Village trustee for six
2 years; he was a member of the Lions Club and Boy Scouts; he was
3 a past president of the Wauconda Park District; and he was a
4 "commissioner" for girls, boys, and men's softball leagues at
5 Lagoon Park in Larkdale; his hobbies were golf and fishing; he
6 was proud to have scored two holes-in-one in golf; and
 
7     WHEREAS, James Keagle Sr. was the beloved husband of Sharon
8 (nee Bartel); the loving father of James P. Jr., Janice
9 (Patrick) Stanley, and Tracee; the cherished grandfather of
10 Kelli, Danny, Emily, and Tommy Stanley; and the dear brother of
11 Katherine Reed, Ann Pallett, the late Robert (Ruth), Stanley
12 (Rosemary), Gerald, and Norman (Mary Jo) Keagle; therefore, be
13 it
 
14     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
15 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
16 his family and friends, the passing of James Keagle Sr.; and be
17 it further
 
18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to the family of James P. Keagle Sr. as a symbol of
20 our sympathy.
