SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Daniel J. Partney of Ste. Genevieve,
4 Missouri, formerly of Granite City, who passed away on June 18,
5 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Daniel Partney was born on September 19, 1949, in
7 Granite City; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
8 brother, and friend to many; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Daniel Partney served as Vice-President of
10 Granite Sheet Metal Works, Incorporated from 1974 to 1991, and
11 President of Granite Mechanical, Incorporated from 1991 to
12 1998; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Daniel Partney was a decorated veteran, and he
14 proudly served his country in the United States Army during the
15 Vietnam War; during his time of service he was awarded a Bronze
16 Star, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Silver Star, Vietnam Armed
17 Forces Honor Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device,
18 National Defense Metal, and a Good Conduct Medal; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Daniel Partney was very involved in the community
20 and held memberships in Granite City Masonic Lodge 877 A.F. and
21 A.M., Scottish Rites Valley of Southern Illinois, Ainad Temple,

1 Tri City Shrine Club, Association of Iron and Steel Engineers,
2 Moose Lodge 272, Sheet Metal Workers Local 268, and American
3 Legion Post 113, and he was a life long member of the
4 International Supreme Council of DeMolay; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Daniel Partney was preceded in death by his
6 parents, former Granite City Mayor and his wife, Donald W. and
7 Dorothy E., nee Moore, Partney Sr.; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Daniel Partney is survived by his beloved wife,
9 Pamela, nee Foster, Partney; his daughters and a son-in-law,
10 Heather L. and Jerry Myatt, and DeAndra M. Partney; his sons
11 and a daughter-in-law, Daniel J. and Andrea Partney, Jr., and
12 James L. Partney; his grandchildren, Dakota Partney and Gerold
13 Myatt; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald W. and Rose
14 Partney, Jr., and David E. and Janet Partney; his half-sisters
15 and their husbands, Donna and Dominic Griffith, and Diane and
16 David Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended
17 family, and many friends; therefore, be it
 
18     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
20 his family and friends, the passing of Daniel J. Partney; and
21 be it further
 
22     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
