SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Walter Gleason of Pekin, who passed away
4 on April 25, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Walter Gleason was born on August 1, 1925 in
6 Lincoln; his parents were Arthur L. and Lucille M. Watson
7 Gleason; he married Betty M. Garriott on March 20, 1948 in
8 Peoria; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Walter Gleason was a business agent and officer
10 for the Teamsters and Chauffeurs Local 627 in Peoria for 31
11 years before retiring as its secretary/treasurer in October
12 1987; he served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and
13 was a member of William Schaefer American Legion Post 44 in
14 Pekin; he was also a member of Teamsters and Chauffeurs Local
15 627 and its Retiree Club; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Walter Gleason enjoyed fishing, golfing in the
17 Parkview Men's League, and reading; he was a member of the
18 First United Methodist Church; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Walter Gleason is survived by his wife; his sons,
20 Patrick A. (Mary Jo) Gleason and Keith E. (Terry) Gleason; his
21 grandchildren, Shawn (Niki) Gleason, Matthew (Erica) Gleason,

1 Blake Gleason, and Nate Thomas, Ryan (Nicole) Gleason, Casey
2 Gleason, and Shannon Gleason; his great-grandson, Isaac
3 Gleason; and his sister, Dorothy C. Shook; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of Walter Gleason; and be
7 it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Walter Gleason as an expression of
10 our sympathy.
