SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Russell Whitworth of Glen Carbon, who
4 passed away on April 17, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Russell Whitworth was born on September 23, 1921
6 in Briscoe, Missouri; his parents were Thomas and Lillian
7 Whitworth; he married Patricia Dolan on October 12, 1957 in
8 Clayton, Missouri; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Whitworth was a World War II U.S. Army
10 veteran; he moved from Hazelwood, Missouri to Glen Carbon in
11 1968; he was a member of Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders and
12 Owners Foundation, the Horseman's Benevolent and Protective
13 Association, and has enjoyed bowling with his friends since
14 1968; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Whitworth was preceded in death by his
16 parents, Thomas and Lillian, nee Strother, Whitworth; his
17 brothers, Delmer Eugene and Atholl Alexander Whitworth; and his
18 sister, Janet; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Mr. Whitworth is survived by his wife, Patricia,
20 nee Dolan, Whitworth; his sons, Russell (Susan) Whitworth and
21 Stephen (Jill) Whitworth; his daughter, Maryanne (John)

2 Grace Barkley and Marci Dominguez; his great-grandchildren,

5 Whitworth, William Joseph (Patricia) Whitworth, Sidney (Gale)
6 Whitworth, and Howard Donald (Betty) Whitworth; therefore, be
7 it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Russell Whitworth; and
11 be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Russell Whitworth as an expression
14 of our sympathy.
