SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of David Michael "Mike" Schrank Sr., a
4 lifelong resident of Waukegan, who passed away on January 31,
5 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mike Schrank attended St. Anastasia Grade School,
7 Waukegan Township High School, and Purdue University; he was
8 united in marriage to Joan Rygiel on August 20, 1960 at Holy
9 Rosary Church in North Chicago; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He was a gun enthusiast and founded Mike Schrank's
11 Smoke N Gun in 1964; he was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed
12 hunting and fishing with his family and closest friends; he
13 enjoyed reading, card games, and playing with his
14 grandchildren; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was a golden eagle supporter of the National
16 Rifle Association, a member of the Lake County Friends of the
17 National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, Lake County
18 Crimestoppers, and the Kenosha County Conservation Club; he had
19 previously been a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy
20 Rosary; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph

1 Schrank; his mother, Viola Schrank; and his brother, Edward
2 Schrank; and
 
3     WHEREAS, David "Mike" Schrank is survived by his wife of 46
4 years, Joan (nee Rygiel) Schrank; his children, Katie Schrank,
5 Meg (Randy) Salvino, Joseph Schrank, David (Sherry) Schrank,
6 and Beth (Allan) Short; his grandchildren, Mandy and Andrew
7 Salvino, Christian Schrank, Britainie and Michael Martin, and
8 Gavin and Evelyn Short; his brother, John Schrank; his
9 sister-in-law, Kathleen Schrank; his brother and
10 sister-in-law, Nick (Bernadette) Kliora; and his nieces and
11 nephews; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14 his family and friends, the passing of David Michael "Mike"
15 Schrank Sr.; and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of David Michael "Mike" Schrank Sr. as
18 a symbol of our sympathy.
