SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express
3 their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Charles
4 Glassmeyer of Bethalto, who passed away on January 7, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Charles Glassmeyer was born on November 16, 1925
6 in Moro; his parents were Frederick and Elizabeth (Schoeneweis)
7 Glassmeyer; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Charles Glassmeyer and Dorothy R. Renken were
9 married on June 14, 1947; she preceded him in death on October
10 10, 1996; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Charles Glassmeyer served in the United States
12 Navy during the World War II era; he was a member of the Wood
13 River Moose Lodge, Alton VFW Post 1308, and American Legion
14 Post 214 in Bethalto; he was active in the Zion Lutheran Church
15 in Bethalto, where he belonged to the Men's Club and served as
16 an elder; he was instrumental in the organization and building
17 of the Zion Lutheran School; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was an electrician for Illinois Power Company
19 in Wood River for more than 30 years; he was also an electrical
20 inspector for the city of Bethalto; and

1     WHEREAS, Charles Glassmeyer is survived by his daughters,
2 Lori Henderson and Kathy Wilcox and her husband, Tom; his
3 grandchildren, Chris, Kim, and Kendra Henderson, and Christina
4 and Curtis Wilcox; his great-grandchildren, Branden and Jayden
5 Henderson, Hailey Chappell, and Madelyn Wilcox; he was preceded
6 in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, and two brothers;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Charles Glassmeyer; and
11 be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Charles Glassmeyer as a symbol of
14 our sympathy.
