SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. was born in Chicago on June
3 6, 1955; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. earned his Bachelor of Arts
5 degree from DePaul University, his Masters of Public
6 Administration degree from Roosevelt University, and multiple
7 licenses in finance and insurance; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. was united in marriage to his
9 wife, Cerrelda, with whom he raised two children; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. held many positions in the
11 public sector during his lifetime, including Associate
12 Director of Clinical Services and Deputy Director at Cook
13 County Hospital and Project Director and Chief Operating
14 Officer at Provident Hospital of Cook County; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. served as Chief of Staff to
16 Cook County Board President John Stroger, where he was
17 responsible for 24,000 employees and an annual budget of $2.7
18 billion; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. extended his career to
20 include several successful entrepreneurial ventures; he was

1 President and Owner of Orlando Jones and Associates, President
2 of Premier Alliance Management LLC, and Vice President of
3 Special Projects at Rezmar Corporation; he was also able to
4 assist many individuals in getting their businesses started;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. was the Chairman of the Cook
7 County Care Foundation and served on the Board of the Chicago
8 Botanical Society, the Cook County Employees Appeal Board, the
9 Cove School Board, the Governmental Assistance Program Board,
10 the State of Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, and the Health
11 Facilities Planning Board; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Orlando G. Jones Sr. was the loving husband of
13 Cerrelda, the doting father to his sons, Orlando Jr. and
14 JePaul, and leaves behind a immeasurable number of best
15 friends; therefore, be it
 
16     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
18 CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn, along with his family and
19 friends, the passing of Orlando G. Jones Sr.; and be it further
 
20     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to the family of Orlando G. Jones Sr. as an
22 expression of our sympathy.
