1     AN ACT concerning energy.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by changing
5 Section 5 as follows:
 
6     (415 ILCS 120/5)
7     Sec. 5. Purpose. The The General Assembly declares that it
8 is the public policy of the State to promote and encourage the
9 use of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve air
10 quality in the State and to meet the requirements of the
11 federal Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal Energy
12 Policy Act of 1992. The General Assembly further declares that
13 the State can play a leadership role in the development of
14 vehicles powered by alternate fuels, as well as in the
15 establishment of the necessary infrastructure to support this
16 emerging technology.
