65 ILCS 5/11-42-1   from Ch. 24, par. 11-42-1

    Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the corporate authorities may license, tax, and regulate, among others, bankers "other than financial institutions". Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning municipalities.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5 changing Section 11-42-1 as follows:
 
6     (65 ILCS 5/11-42-1)  (from Ch. 24, par. 11-42-1)
7     Sec. 11-42-1. The corporate authorities of each
8 municipality may license, tax, and regulate auctioneers,
9 private detectives, demolition contractors, money changers,
10 bankers other than financial institutions, brokers other than
11 insurance brokers, barbers, and the keepers or owners of lumber
12 yards, lumber storehouses, livery stables, public scales, ice
13 cream parlors, coffee houses, florists, detective agencies,
14 barber shops and sellers of tickets for theatricals, shows,
15 amusements, athletic events and other exhibitions at a place
16 other than the theatre or location where the theatricals,
17 shows, amusements, athletic events and other exhibitions are
18 given or exhibited.

20     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21 becoming law.
