    Amends the Parental Responsibility Law. Increases the limitation on damages recoverable under that Law, from $20,000 to $200,000.

1     AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Parental Responsibility Law is amended by
5 changing Section 5 as follows:
 
6     (740 ILCS 115/5)  (from Ch. 70, par. 55)
7     Sec. 5. Limitation on damages; damages allowable. No
8 recovery under this Act may exceed $200,000 $20,000 actual
9 damages for each person, or legal entity as provided in Section
10 4 of this Act, for each occurrence of such wilful or malicious
11 acts by the minor causing injury, in addition to taxable court
12 costs and attorney's fees. In determining the damages to be
13 allowed in an action under this Act for personal injury, only
14 medical, dental and hospital expenses and expenses for
15 treatment by Christian Science practitioners and nursing care
16 appropriate thereto may be considered.
