30 ILCS 105/5.675 new










    Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and the State Finance Act. Creates the Airport Improvement Fund as a special fund in the State treasury. Provides that, from moneys appropriated from the Fund, the Department of Transportation must make grants to airport authorities in the State for airport improvement projects that do not qualify for federal funding. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning finance.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the

Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended  by adding 
6
Section 2705-280 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 2705/2705-280 new)

    Sec. 2705-280. The Airport Improvement Fund. The Airport 
9
Improvement Fund is created as a special fund in the State 
10
treasury. From moneys appropriated from the Fund, the 
11
Department must make grants to airport authorities in the State 
12
for airport improvement projects that do not qualify for 
13
federal funding.

    Section 10. The State Finance Act is amended by adding 
15
Section 5.675 as follows:

    (30 ILCS 105/5.675 new)

    Sec. 5.675. The Airport Improvement Fund.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
19
becoming law.
