HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the Boy
3 Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of Eagle
4 Scout; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Tim Reiter of Boy Scout Troop 49, in Streamwood,
6 achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on January 27, 2008; and
 
7     WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young man
8 must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a
9 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in
10 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Tim was successful in the planning and building of
12 bluebird houses and creating a bluebird trail to attract the
13 birds; he also organized a bake sale and donated the proceeds
14 to Grace Lutheran Church, where the houses and trail are
15 located; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Tim Reiter has been in scouting since 1996, and
17 earned many advancements, advancing through the Tiger, Bobcat,
18 Wolf, Bear, and Weblos I and II levels; Tim was awarded the
19 Arrow of Light while in the Cub Scouts, the only award that can
20 be carried on to the Boy Scouts; and

1     WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Tim joins an elite and
2 honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its members
3 an extraordinary number of this nation's great leaders in
4 business, government, education, and other sectors of society;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout
7 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his family, his
8 Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11 join his family and friends in congratulating Tim Reiter upon
12 attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, and we commend him
13 upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the
14 hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to Eagle Scout Tim Reiter as an expression of our
17 respect and esteem.
